My name is Emilio L. Sáenz Guillén, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Actuarial Science at Bayes Business School - City St. George's, University of London.
I am in the academic job market 2025-26.
I work under the supervision of Professor Vladimir K. Kaishev and Dr Dimitrina S. Dimitrova, and my research focuses on the development of novel statistical methods and stochastic models based on splines and copulas, with applications to risk modelling, inequality measurement, consumer behaviour, pricing and diffusion, and healthcare data analysis.
This includes work on:
- gradient boosting;
- generalized additive models;
- nonparametric density estimation;
- (perceived) income & standard of living modelling;
- survival models.
